Dear Derek, Thank you for this post. Although I enjoyed this post very much, I do have one small bone to pick. What do you mean when you make the analogy between eternal souls and marriage -- when you say "either you have an immortal soul or you don’t. There’s no possible halfway house, any more than there is between being single and being married"? Donn't open relationships, boyfriend/girlfriend-girlfriend/boyfriend relationships, and civil unions sit somewhere on the continuum between marriage and being single?
