I am a "Christian" pastor and would concur with the notion of some kind of "physicality" of the soul; whether it be a 4th or 5th dimension kind of physicality or something completely different remains to be seen. Why do I buy this understanding? I'm a bit of a fan of Teilhard de Chardin and particularly the Christian theologian Gordon Kaufman who both see creation as the development of higher and higher "levels" of creativity. The human "soul" is the highest level of creativity so far. I'm struck by Bickerton's challenge as to when the human species became ensouled and recognize this as a challenge to my understanding...
